About the role
Endoscopy procedure scheduling. (Emergency Procedures).
Arrange the endoscopy room for procedure & make sure there are no errors and that they're appropriate and safe for individual patient.
Perform all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
Prepare Endoscopes and Accessories.
Assist in Diagnostic Procedures like;
Esophagi Gastroduodenoscopy
Colonoscopy
Flexible Sigmoidoscopy
Bronchoscopy
Assist IN Therapeutic Procedures like;
Esophageal Variceal Banding, Sclerotherapy Injection
Polypectomy- Upper / Lower GI Scopey
Balloon dilatation for strictures
Hemo - Sclerotherapy, Argon Plasma Coagulation, Hemoclip
Foreign Body Removal
Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy
Gastric Ballon Insertion
Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography - Cannulation, Sphincterotomy, Stone Extraction, Stricture Dilatation, Stone Crushing, Stenting.

Attend applicable OSH/Infection control training programs, mock drills and awareness programs.
Use of appropriate personal protective equipment and safety systems.
Comply with reasonable OSH instructions, policies and safe working procedures.

Not willfully or recklessly endanger anyone’s health and safety
Assist with the preparation of risk assessments.
Report OSH Hazards, incidents, near misses and issues.

Participates in the OSHMS audits, inspections, ensuring standards are maintained.
PCI is everyone’s responsibility. All staff are required to read and implement the NMC PCI Policy and Strategy in an effort to maintain the highest possible standards of cleanliness at all times, thus reducing the risk of infection in patients, staff and visitors.
The strictest hand hygiene, 5 moments of hand hygiene, bare below the elbows and environmental care, will be expected of all staff, including the post holder, at all times.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Endoscopy Technology
Two years as Endoscopy Technician in a Hospital setup
