Job Description:
Urban Designer
Dubai, UAE
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Urban Designer to join our team! In this role you will contribute to a variety of urban development and masterplanning projects that help shape the future of our cities.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Perform research, analysis and design development tasks within project teams.
- Develop diagrams, drawings, reports, presentations and visual materials.
- Develop technical inputs to support planning studies at local, regional, and strategic level.
- Support the preparation of urban design and masterplanning packages across multiple design stages (Pre-Concept, Concept and Detailed Masterplan).
- Collaborate with internal disciplines to support the development of integrated design solutions.
- Assist in ensuring project outputs comply with local planning policies, development regulations and international best practices.
- Participate in internal design reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of design quality.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Architecture or closely related field.
- Minimum 1 year of professional experience in urban design or urban planning consultancy.
- Experience contributing to masterplanning studies, conceptual layouts and urban design proposals.
- Understanding of urban design principles and planning frameworks.
- Strong graphic, analytical and presentation skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in design and visualization tools such as AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, Rhino or similar platforms.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
- Master’s degree in Urban Design, Urban Planning, Architecture or related discipline.
- Professional accreditation such as AICP, RTPI, RIBA or equivalent.
- Ability to work effectively within a team, demonstrating a proactive approach and a strong sense of ownership on project tasks
